We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve Gustus aka “DJ Wiz” and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Native to Snow Hill, Maryland & the Delmarva Peninsula area, Steve Gustus also known as DJ Wiz, started DJing in 1978 and has been apart of several DJ groups since the beginning of his career. He has done numerous Community and Celebrity Events, staying in tune with the latest music as well as spinning the classics.

Currently DJ Wiz is partnered with “T & S Entertainment Group LLC” and Edmonds Music, Inc” an independent record label founded by Melvin Edmonds Jr.

Dj Wiz is ON AIR with multiple radio stations such as, “In Da Mix Radio”, “Power 99”, “WJCB” and was also recently featured in the “R Report Magazine”. DJ Wiz has humbly become a staple to his community and has gained national attention.

What makes you stand out as a DJ?

Knowledge of all music genres. It’s important to analyze the atmosphere in order to set the tone.

What skills do you think Dj’s need to be successful?

You must have a good ear for rhythm, sense of timing, good personal skills and creative talent for mixing music together.

How do you stay up to date with the latest music trends?

Collaboration is key. Being apart of numerous organizations keeps me apart of everyday trends.

What would you say is the most rewarding part of being a DJ?

The most rewarding part is creating a vibration that keeps people happy.
